Swim Alberta Provincial Competitions 2016-2017

Swim Alberta has undertaken an extensive review of our provincial competitions over the last several months.  As a leader in advancing swimming in Canada, we wanted to ensure that our provincial competition structure was aligned with the Swimming Canada Competition Improvement Plan as well as the Long-Term Athlete Development Model.  The Provincial Competition Format ensures that all athletes benefit from developmentally appropriate competition.

We are proud to share these changes with you.  An overview to the Provincial Competitions and review is available:

In addition, the 2016-2017 Provincial Time Standards are also available.

Note: meet packages are not sanctioned, not approved and subject to change.

We appreciate that change can be challenging but it can also be exciting and present tremendous opportunity.  Revising the provincial competition pathway is crucial to ensure we align with the national competition improvement plan and provide swimmers with the best development opportunity.
