Alberta Competition Information
Swim Alberta has established a stable competition calendar to address the needs of swimmers from grassroots through to Performance Development in alignment with the Swimming Canada national competition calendar. For the 2024-2025 swimming season, updates to the calendar include a shift to single year racing at the provincial level, and adjusted ages at all Provincial Competitions. The calendar and other considerations are continually reviewed by the Competition Calendar Working Group (CCWG). The following documents are published as a resource for coaches when planning their season.
- Competition Profiles: This document is a resource for coaches outlining the types of competitions at each level of swimmer development.
- Competition Focus Per Level: The competition focus per level is intended to provide guidance for Meet Managers, Officials Chairs and Officials to support swimmer development through each level of competition.
- Provincial Series Requirements: Requirements for provincial series competitions.
- Dates and Competition Windows (Sept 2024): An overall view of when each competition type should be held, including the planned dates for the Provincial Series, Provincial Competitions as well as the dates for National level events. Dates are draft only; official dates will be published by Swim Alberta or Swimming Canada.
- Club Sample Calendar (Sept 2024): An example of how a club may choose to program their season. Dates are draft only; official dates will be published by Swim Alberta or Swimming Canada.
Meet Manager information regarding Competition Types, Deadlines and Requirements are published on the Swim Alberta Meet Manager Information Page.
