Affiliation & Registration

Affiliation and registration confirm your club’s recognition with Swim Alberta and Swimming Canada and members are insured, Safe Sport educated, and eligible for sanctioned activities.

Affiliation Process

Club affiliation is the first step in preparing for the season and must be completed before coaches and swimmers can be registered.

Affiliation is completed through Swimming Canada’s Registration, Events, and Management System (REMS).

Why Affiliation Matters

Affiliation confirms your club’s eligibility to operate under Swim Alberta.
It ensures clubs are covered under Swim Alberta’s insurance program.
It is required before moving on to coach and swimmer registration.
Provides access to key benefits such as insurance coverage, sanctioned competitions, grants, and operational support.

Affiliation Requirements

The affiliation form must be completed in one sitting and all file uploads must be under 2MB
Club Registrar Compliance Declaration – Required
Club Officials Administrator – Registration System Access Compliance Declaration – Required
Board of Directors List – Full Name, Position, Email, Phone
Bylaws – If changed from previous submission

Registration

Registration ensures athletes, coaches, and clubs are officially recognized with Swim Alberta and Swimming Canada. By registering, members gain access to insurance coverage, provincial programming, funding eligibility, certified and compliant coaches, competition eligibility (provincial and nationals).

Coaches must also meet compliance requirements.
