January 16, 2019- Edmonton- The Government of Alberta announced yesterday that it has provided 240 Alberta-based athletes nearly $1 million through the Alberta Sport Connection (ASC) Podium Alberta program.
Those 240 athletes are represented by 42 sports from 35 Alberta communities and will receive an average of $4,000 through Podium Alberta.
Of those 240 athletes, a total of 14 swimmers across Alberta were selected to receive funding through the Alberta Sport Connection. The financial support from ASC’s Podium Alberta program helps athletes access high-performance coaching and training opportunities, and purse athletic excellence at the highest levels of competition.
