U Sports Championship Results 2020

This past weekend the 2020 U Sports Championships took place in Victoria, BC. All three varsity teams competed from Universities across the country.

Danica Ludlow from the University of Calgary Dinos broke a U Sports Record in the Women’s 800m Freestyle with a time of 8:45.45 placing her Gold. Fellow teammate Marit Anderson came in Silver with 8:52.72.

In the Men’s 50m Breastroke Cale Kooyman from the University of Alberta Golden Bears placed gold with a time of 28.90. In the M 200m Backstroke Calgary Dino’s Richie Stokes and Anders Klein placed silver and bronze respectively. Robert Hill (Dino’s) received bronze in the M 200 IM, and in the 4x100m Medley Relay Calgary took bronze (Anders Klein, Benjamin Blackmon, Robert Hill, Paul Latkovic).

In the final team standings for Women – Calgary placed 3rd (864), Alberta 13th (147) and Lethbridge 23rd (37).
Men – Calgary placed 2nd (873), Alberta 9th (303) and Lethbridge 17th (39).
