The Canada Western Summer Games have come to a close for Team Alberta’s Swim Team. After 8 days of training, bonding, competing, travelling and the occasional puzzle the team has returned home and with a rather massive haul.
Team Alberta walked away from Phase 1 of the Canada Western Summer Games with 173 medals – and 103 of those are from none other than the Swim Team. Over the 5 days of competition Alberta’s Swimming which consisted of 7 coaches and team manager and 33 athletes including 4 Special Olympic athletes and 1 Para, the team came together and not only outshone their competition but achieved some of their own personal bests.
The Canada Western Summer Games are held in Swift Current, Saskatchewan this year from August 9-19th.
