It might be chilly out but prepare to feel the heat at Winter Festival North this weekend in Spruce Grove! The festival will be hosted at the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre February 22-23 hosted by the Parkland Pirates and Olympian Swim Club. The Winter Festival is usually one of the first chances for females aged 10 & under and males 11 & under swimmers this to experience a provincial competition and a finals opportunity. Approximately 160 swimmers from Northern Alberta are expected to attend the competition.
Canada’s Junior Team Member and Medalist Avery Wiseman will be visiting the competition to sign autographs and take photos from 12:30pm to 3:30 pm on Saturday, February 22nd. Please arrive early to make sure your swimmer has the opportunity to get an autograph and photo with one of Alberta’s best!
Swim Alberta would like to thank Team Aquatics for donating the draw prizes. There will be Youth Recognition Awards given out on Sunday sponsored by Esquire. Coaches will also have a PD Seminar Opportunity on Saturday, 6:30p-8p.

Avery Wiseman
Avery currently swims with Olympian Swim Club. She took home bronze in the 200 breast at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Championships and qualified for the World Juniors with 5th place in 50 breast at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials. She helped earn bronze in the 4 x 100 IM relay and placed 7th in the 100 breast at the 2019 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships.
